Mosaic Metro Cards

I saw a segment on CBS Sunday Morning this morning called Swiping Beauty from the Mundane where an artist took old Metro cards from the New York subway system and created beautiful works of art with them. He’s immortalized the card in mosaics, mini taxi cabs, little houses, and many other items. I loved the idea of it and it reminded me of a video short I saw many years ago called Metro, created by Jacob Wyatt. It’s a quiet tale of a girl at the Metro who loses her ticket and goes on an adventure chasing the sly fox who stole her ticket only to find what the true motivation was behind the fox filching her ticket.

In a world that seems to be consuming chaos like it was a delectable dessert, it’s little things like this that bring a little bit of quiet and peace into our lives. We owe an eternal debt of gratitude to the artists who bring tranquility to our lives. ❤️
